Tahquamenon Falls Michigan

Tahquamenon falls, located in the eastern UP of Michigan between Newbury and Paradise, near lake Superior, it  is the largest in the state in terms of volume .

The rich brownish  color of the falls is created by Tannic acids which leach from cedar swamps the river drains

The falls pictured here are approx 200 eet across and about 48 feet high.

It is essential to have a tripod with you and a medium length zoom to get close ups of the waterfall.

Shutter speed will determine the way the falls look in your pictures.
